If you have been following u our family throughout the year you know that it has been crazy.
Starting with Mark getting diagnosed with Achondroplasia in February, and then having to learn exactly what that meant. Mark has been sending us curve ball since the day that he showed up. I have learned a ton from this little boy and I am glad that God sent him to me. I would have to say that the only down side is all the doctors that we have to meet with and the exams that mark has to go through.
Then in September Ella started school, and I sure am starting to feel old. I can’t be old enough to have a kid starting school? right? Well as most parents know you are never old enough to have a kid in school, but it is just inevitable. Ella has learned tons in school, and loves her new friends, her teachers, and telling me all about her day.
These last couple of months have been crazy. Our whole family has had a bug for the past 2 months and it seems that it just keeps coming back. I hope that the new year is healthier for our family. We all managed to make it through the holidays healthy and happy.
I love watching the kids faces as they open up something new, and how excited they are to get it out of the box. Our Christmas was a huge success and as I was taking down some Christmas decorations Ella came up to me and said how sad she was the Christmas was over. I told her that before she knew it, it would be Christmas again. However as most of you know as a little kid you know that a year seems like a life time.
Looking into 2014: Ella will start Kindergarten in September, which means she will be going to school 5 days a week all day long ( right now she only goes on Monday and Wednesday all day long). She is growing up and I know that she will want to get involved in everything that she can. So I am sure that I will be busy making sure that she gets to where she needs to be.
Mark will be doing more doctors appointment and making sure that he is growing the way the he should be. Hopefully he will be developing more words, and getting into more trouble. I am looking forward to spending more of my time with him, with Ella being in school.
I am hoping to take a family vacation so that we can all reconnect as a family, and get away from the stress of the farm.
Appointment Update: Mark goes to get x-rays of his spine and legs on the 31st of December, and we are hoping that nothing too sever has changed. However now that he is walking the bones in his legs may have bowed out a little. But I will not draw any conclusions until we see the doctor next Tuesday.
